Turlock Firefighters Local 2434 is proud to announce the upgrade of our Fire Department’s I.S.O. (Insurance Services Office, Inc.) rating to Class 2, effective May 1, 2014.
The I.S.O. ratings of a city and fire department directly affect the insurance premiums for citizens and businesses in a fire department’s response area. The I.S.O. assigns ratings to fire departments and cities based on firefighting equipment, staffing, training, and location of fire stations along with an evaluation of the dispatch system and water systems available to suppress fires.
By offering economic benefits for communities that invest in their firefighting services, the program provides a real incentive for improving and maintaining public fire protection. Just over one percent of all fire departments in the United States have a rating of 2 or better.
Maintaining staffing, purchasing necessary firefighting equipment and offering firefighters the best possible training are all required elements to maintaining our Class 2 rating and the financial benefits the rating delivers to our citizens.
Turlock Firefighters look forward to continue meeting the needs of our citizens and community with a focus on continually improving our service delivery. ?
