The general purpose of this Local is to operate a labor organization of all persons engaged in fire fighting, emergency medical or rescue service activities or related services who are permanent and full-time employees of the Turlock Fire Department, with the exception of any rank above Battalion Chief. 

The Local's specific purposes are:

• To promote and advance the interests and welfare of all members in good standing.
• To represent active members in regards to their wages, hours and working conditions.
• To foster a spirit of goodwill among the members.
• To aid and assist the members in all proper ways.
